A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be very liberal, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words redistribution of wealth.
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch conservative, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs.
The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.
Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn’t even have time for a boyfriend, and didn’t really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, “How is your friend Audrey doing?”
She replied, “Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She’s always invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn’t even show up for classes because she’s too hung over.”
Her wise father asked his daughter, “Why don’t you go to the Dean’s office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.”
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father’s suggestion, angrily fired back, “That’s a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I’ve worked really hard for my grades! I’ve invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!”
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, “Welcome to the conservative side of the fence.”
If you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!
If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.
If a liberal doesn’t like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and Jesus silenced.
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it..
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a conservative reads this, he’ll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he’s “offended.”
Well, I forwarded it to you.

Watch your prices when you shop at Amazon.com. I was considering the purchase of a $500 item and have been tracking the price. Prices seems to change daily, sometimes multiple times during the day. I have seen the item at regular price, 1% off, 2% off, all the way down to 10% off. So if you really want the best deal, check the price often or you will get screwed!!!!!

Really pissed!!!
Had to call ComEd today with an issue today for a relative. I was on hold over 35 minutes before I ever got customer service. My guess is they have cut back so much on their CS, that the hold times are now ridiculous. This is the not the first time with this issue either, but this is the longest wait. All the money we pay for our electric and this is the kind of service they give us. I wish the ComEd execs had to call this number for help…things would change quickly.
Then to top it all off, I had faxed them a document on 11/15…guess what, they have no record of it. So now back to square one and calling back yet again in a week or so…dammmmmm.
Come on ComEd, do your jobs!!!!!!!

Ok, CNN story today:
CNN Breaking News: In Ohio, 49 freed animals shot: 18 tigers, 17 lions, 6 black bears, 2 grizzlies , 3 mountain lions, 2 wolves, baboon.
Apparently the owner of an exotic animal farm released all his animals and committed suicide. Also it was stated he may not have properly cared for all the animals.
So who the hell ordered all these poor animals to be shot. HAVE YOU HEARD OF TRANQUILIZER GUNS!!!!! The animals have already had a rough life. They should still be in the wild. But no, let’s just kill them all. They should have been tranquilized and moved somewhere where they spend the rest of their lives in peace. Of course they have lots of excuses why they had to do it. I know there are zoos in Ohio, they quickly could have gotten help!
I say we send the guy who made this decision out in wild and someone hunts him down. Stupid IDIOT!!!!

The Bensenville Independent, Your Hometown Newspaper…WHAT A JOKE!!! Have you really looked at the content of this newspaper?? Other than Bensenville police reports, there is virtually no mention of Bensenville in this newspaper. The copy I received yesterday had ZERO articles about Bensenville, and even in the sports section, nothing on Fenton. I saw lots of stuff on Addison and Elmhurst!! This is the 7th issue of the Bensenville edition, and each is the same. What an insult to the people of Bensenville. Don’t call it a Bensenville newspaper and then have nothing about Bensenville, NOT EVEN in the sports section. Hello…we do have a high school here and they do play football!!! And then get this, it says free on the top, but they are still trying to sell a year subscription for $15.95. Do we have STUPID written on our foreheads!! Don’t waste our time Rock Valley Publishing with this total waste of paper.

DETROIT
By Frosty Wooldridge
For 15 years, from the mid 1970’s to 1990, I worked in Detroit , Michigan . I watched it descend into the abyss of crime, debauchery, gun play, drugs, school truancy, car-jacking, gangs and human depravity. I watched entire city blocks burned out. I watched graffiti explode on buildings, cars, trucks, buses and school yards. Trash everywhere!
Detroiters walked through it, tossed more into it, and ignored it. Tens of thousands, and then hundreds of thousands today exist on federal welfare, free housing, and food stamps!
With Aid to Dependent Children, minority women birthed eight to 10, and in one case, one woman birthed 24 children as reported by the Detroit Free Press, all on American taxpayer dollars.
A new child meant a new car payment, new TV, and whatever mom wanted. I saw Lyndon Baines Johnson’s ‘Great Society’ flourish in Detroit . If you give money for doing nothing, you will get more hands out taking money for doing nothing.
Mayor Coleman Young, perhaps the most corrupt mayor in America, outside of Richard Daley in Chicago, rode Detroit down to its knees… He set the benchmark for cronyism, incompetence, and arrogance. As a black man, he said, “I am the MFIC.” The IC meant “in charge”.
You can figure out the rest Detroit became a majority black city with 67 percent African-Americans.
As United Van Lines truck driver for my summer job from teaching math and science, I loaded hundreds of American families into my van for a new life in another city or state.
Detroit plummeted from 1.8 million citizens to 912,000 today. At the same time, legal and illegal immigrants converged on the city, so much so, that Muslims number over 300,000. Mexicans number 400,000 throughout Michigan , but most work in Detroit . As the whites moved out, the Muslims moved in.
As the crimes became more violent, the whites fled. Finally, unlawful Mexicans moved in at a torrid pace. Detroit suffers so much shoplifting that grocery stores no longer operate in many inner city locations. You could cut the racial tension in the air with a knife! Detroit may be one of our best examples of multiculturalism: pure dislike, and total separation from America ..
Today, you hear Muslim calls to worship over the city like a new American Baghdad with hundreds of Islamic mosques in Michigan , paid for by Saudi Arabia oil money. High school flunk out rates reached 76 percent last June, according to NBC’s Brian Williams. Classrooms resemble more foreign countries than America .. English? Few speak it! The city features a 50 percent illiteracy rate and growing.
Unemployment hit 28.9 percent in 2009 as the auto industry vacated the city. In Time Magazine’s October 4, 2009, “The Tragedy of Detroit: How a great city fell, and how it can rise again,” I choked on the writer’s description of what happened. “If Detroit had been ravaged by a hurricane, and submerged by a ravenous flood, we’d know a lot more about it,” said Daniel Okrent. “If drought and carelessness had spread brush fires across the city, we’d see it on the evening news every night.” Earthquake, tornadoes, you name it, if natural disaster had devastated the city that was once the living proof of American prosperity, the rest of the country might take notice.
But Detroit , once our fourth largest city, now 11th and slipping rapidly, has had no such luck. Its disaster has long been a slow unwinding that seemed to remove it from the rest of the country.
Even the death rattle that in the past year emanated from its signature industry brought more attention to the auto executives than to the people of the city, who had for so long been victimized by their dreadful decision making.”
As Coleman Young’s corruption brought the city to its knees, no amount of federal dollars could save the incredible payoffs, kickbacks and illegality permeating his administration. I witnessed the city’s death from the seat of my 18-wheeler tractor trailer because I moved people out of every sector of decaying Detroit ..
“By any quantifiable standard, the city is on life support. Detroit ’s treasury is $300 million short of the funds needed to provide the barest municipal services,” Okrent said. “The school system, which six years ago was compelled by the teachers’ union to reject a philanthropist’s offer of $200 million to build 15 small, independent charter high schools, is in receivership. The murder rate is soaring, and 7 out of 10 remain unsolved. Three years after Katrina devastated New Orleans , unemployment in that city hit a peak of 11%. In Detroit today, the unemployment rate is 28.9%. That’s worth spelling out: twenty-eight point nine percent.
At the end of Okrent’s report, and he will write a dozen more about Detroit, he said, “That’s because the story of Detroit is not simply one of a great city’s collapse, it’s also about the erosion of the industries that helped build the country we know today. The ultimate fate of Detroit will reveal much about the character of America in the 21st century.
If what was once the most prosperous manufacturing city in the nation has been brought to its knees, what does that say about our recent past? And if it can’t find a way to get up, what does that say about America’s future?”
As you read in my book review of Chris Steiner’s book,”$20 Per Gallon”, the auto industry won’t come back. Immigration will keep pouring more and more uneducated third world immigrants from the Middle East into Detroit , thus creating a beachhead for Islamic hegemony in America . If 50 percent illiteracy continues, we will see more homegrown terrorists spawned out of the Muslim ghettos of Detroit . Illiteracy plus Islam equals walking human bombs.
You have already seen it in Madrid, Spain, London, England, and Paris, France with train bombings, subway bombings and riots. As their numbers grow, so will their power to enact their barbaric Sharia Law that negates republican forms of government, first amendment rights, and subjugates women to the lowest rungs on the human ladder. We will see more honor killings by upset husbands, fathers and brothers that demand subjugation by their daughters, sisters and wives. Muslims prefer beheadings of women to scare the hell out of any other members of their sect from straying. Multiculturalism: what a perfect method to kill our language, culture, country and way of life.
I PRAY EVERYONE THAT READS THIS REALIZES THAT IF WE DON’T STAND UP, AND SCREAM AT WASHINGTON , AND OUR STATE, CITY AND LOCAL LEADERS THIS IS WHAT AWAITS THE REST OF AMERICA . IF YOU THINK MEXICANS AND MUSLIMS AND OTHER FORIEGNERS WILL EVENTUALLY FIT RIGHT IN THEN YOU ARE AS BIG A PART OF THE PROBLEM AS THEY ARE.
IF YOU THINK THIS IS JUST A BUNCH OF HOOEY AND YOU FEEL NO DUTY TO FIGHT FOR THIS COUNTRY, THEN I’M SORRY, I DON’T KNOW WHAT IT WILL TAKE FOR YOU TO STAND AND FIGHT ?

Humor
The English language has some wonderfully anthropomorphic collective nouns for the various groups of animals. For example: we are all familiar with a herd of Cows, a flock of Chickens, a school of fish, or a gaggle of geese.
However, less widely known is a Pride of lions, a Murder of crows (as well as their cousins the rooks and ravens), an Exaltation of doves and, presumably because they look so wise, a Parliament of owls.
Now consider a group of Baboons. They are the loudest, most dangerous, most obnoxious, most viciously aggressive and least intelligent of all primates.
And what is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons? Believe it or not …. a Congress!
That pretty much explains the things that come out of Washington.

Political
Sherry Hackett, wife of the late Buddy Hackett, is a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat.
I would think that many other Democrats share her position…
This was written by Sherry Hackett, Buddy Hackett’s widow
“WE NOTICED”
President Obama:
Today I read of your administrations’ plan to re-define September 11 as
a National Service Day.
Sir, it’s time we had a talk.
During your campaign, Americans watched as you made mockery of our
tradition of standing and crossing your heart when the Pledge of Allegiance
was spoken. You, out of four people on the stage, were the only one not
honoring our tradition.
YES, “We noticed..”
During one of your many speeches, Americans heard you say that you
intended to visit all 57 states. We all know that Islam, not America has 57 states.
YES, “We noticed..”
When President Bush leaned over at Ground Zero and gently placed a
flower on the memorial, while you nonchalantly tossed your flower onto
the pile without leaning over.
YES, “We noticed..”
Every time you apologized to other countries for America ’s position on
an issue we have wondered why you don’t share our pride in this great
country.. When you have heard foreign leaders berate our country and
our beliefs, you have not defended us. In fact, you insulted the
British Crown beyond belief.
YES, “We noticed..”
When your pastor of 20 years, “God-damned America ” and said that
9/11 was ” America ’s chickens coming home to roost” and you denied
having heard recriminations of that nature, we wondered how that could
be. You later disassociated yourself from that church and Pastor
Wright because it was politically expedient to do so.
YES, “We noticed..”
When you announced that you would transform America , we wondered
why. With all her faults, America is the greatest country on earth.
Sir, KEEP THIS IN MIND, “if not for America and the people who built
her, you wouldn’t be sitting in the White House now.” Prior to your
election to the highest office in this Country, you were a senator from
Illinois and from what we can glean from the records available, not a
very remarkable one.
YES, “We noticed..”
All through your campaign and even now, you have surrounded
yourself with individuals who are basically unqualified for the
positions for which you appointed them. Worse than that, the majority
of them are people who, like you, bear no special allegiance, respect, or
affection for this country and her traditions.
YES, “We noticed..”
You are 24 months into your term and every morning millions of
Americans wake up to a new horror heaped on us by you. You seek to
saddle working Americans with a health care/insurance reform package
that, along with cap and trade, will bankrupt this nation.
YES, “We noticed..”
We seek, by protesting, to let our representatives know that we are not
in favor of these crippling expenditures and we are labeled
“un-American”,”racist”, “mob”. We wonder how we are supposed to let
you know how frustrated we are. You have attempted to make our protests seem
isolated and insignificant. Until your appointment, Americans had the right
to speak out.
YES, “We noticed..”
On September 11, 2001 there were no Republicans or Democrats, only
Americans. And we all grieved together and helped each other in
whatever way we could. The attack on 9/11 was carried out because we are
Americans.
And YES, “We noticed..”
There were many of us who prayed that as a black president you could
help unite this nation. In six months you have done more to destroy
this nation than the attack on 9/11. You have failed us.
YES, “We noticed..”
September 11 is a day of remembrance for all Americans. You
propose to make 9/11 a “National Service Day”. While we know that you
don’t share our reverence for 9/11, we pray that history will report
your proposal as what it is, a disgrace.
YES, “We noticed..”
You have made a mockery of our Constitution and the office that
you hold. You have embarrassed and slighted us in foreign visits
and policy.
YES, “We noticed..”
We have noticed all these things. We will deal with you. When Americans
come together again, it will be to remove you from office.
Take notice.

Government
The U.S. Congress sets a federal budget every year in the trillions of dollars. Few people know how much money that is so we created a breakdown of federal spending in simple terms. Let’s put the 2011 federal budget into perspective:
* U.S. income: $2,170,000,000,000
* Federal budget: $3,820,000,000,000
* New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
* National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
* Recent budget cut: $ 38,500,000,000 (about 1 percent of the budget)
It helps to think about these numbers in terms that we can relate to. Let’s remove eight zeros from these numbers and pretend this is the household budget for the fictitious Jones family.
* Total annual income for the Jones family: $21,700
* Amount of money the Jones family spent: $38,200
* Amount of new debt added to the credit card: $16,500
* Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
* Amount cut from the budget: $385
So in effect last month Congress, or in this example the Jones family, sat down at the kitchen table and agreed to cut $385 from its annual budget.
What family would cut $385 of spending in order to solve $16,500 in deficit spending?
It is a start, although hardly a solution.
Now after years of this, the Jones family has $142,710 of debt on its credit card (which is the equivalent of the national debt).
You would think the Jones family would recognize and address this situation, but it does not. Neither does Congress.
The root of the debt problem is that the voters typically do not send people to Congress to save money. They are sent there to bring home the bacon to their own home state.
To effect budget change, we need to change the job description and give Congress new marching orders.
It is awfully hard (but not impossible) to reverse course and tell the government to stop borrowing money from our children and spending it now.
In effect, what we have is a reverse mortgage on the country. The problem is that the voters have become addicted to the money. Moreover, the American voters are still in the denial stage, and do not want to face the possibility of going into rehab.

Village of Bensenville,
I was in the Johnson School area the other day and noticed lots of big dump trucks driving around the neighborhood on Hawthorne Ave. and Donna Lane. Some of these trucks were fully loaded and I would imagine exceeding the weight limit for our residential streets. It was only a few years ago that these streets were completely replaced!! Now does it make sense to allow this type of traffic on these streets?? I would think not and I would think you should restrict this traffic to Ridgewood Ave. and Briar Lane??? Makes sense to me, right???? Who is overseeing this project for the village…get with it please!!

History Lesson on Your Social Security Card
Dick Kantenberger
Gifted Education Writer
Examiner.com
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn’t know this.
It’s easy to check out, if you don’t believe it. Be sure and show it to your family
and friends. They need a little history lesson on what’s what and it doesn’t matter
whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts.
Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and
card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the
United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the
message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION, was removed.
An old Social Security card with the “NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION” message.
Our Social Security
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be
Completely voluntary,
No longer Voluntary
2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
Incomes into the Program,
Now 7.65%
on the first $90,000
3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,
No longer tax deductible
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent ‘Trust Fund’ rather than into the
general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other Government program, and,
Under Johnson the money was moved to The General Fund and Spent
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
Under Clinton & Gore Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month — and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to ‘put away’ — you may be interested in the following:
———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— —-
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent ‘Trust Fund’ and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.
———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— –
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— —–
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the ‘tie-breaking’ deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US
———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— -
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
AND MY FAVORITE:
A: That’s right!
Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!
———— — ———— ——— —– ———— ——— ———
Then, after violating the original contract (FICA),
the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want
to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve.
But it’s worth a try.
How many people can YOU send this to?
Actions speak louder than bumper stickers

Ex-governor George Ryan’s wife just died. Certainly a sad day for anyone that loses a loved one, but along with this news came the news that George Ryan was released 4 times in recent months to visit her. Funny how we never heard this on the news and how they kept it a big secret. Had they told the public there certainly would have been an uproar. After all he is in prison, NOT day camp. What about all the other prisoners that have loved ones that are sick and may die while they are in prison. Would you call this special treatment….I think so. This really set a bad precedent for our system of justice…a sad day! Guess it depends on who you are and how many powerful attorneys you have, not what is fair and just.

I was watching the sports report on the news last night and they were interviewing one of the White Sox players on losing the game. It struck me how these sports figures actually think they are doing something really important and what they say really counts. Somebody should tell them it is a fricken GAME and whether they win, lose, or even play the game is NOT IMPORTANT. Important are wars, poverty, living from day to day, death of loved ones, but certainly not a game and certainly not what they have to say about it. Get a life!! If they love sports so much and they want to entertain us, let them do it for say $50K a year. We’ll see then how much they love the game and how much they feel important. Is sports big business, yes, does sports create lots of jobs and income for others, yes, but is sports important, NO!!!

Thanks Bensenville…thanks for holding the line on costs. Nice of you to present us with a 11.3% rate increase for Water/Sewer. People are losing jobs, people are not getting raises, people are underwater on their mortgages, people are losing their homes, and this is how our village treats its residents? Real nice. We need you to be accountable too. You need to hold the line. We need you to make sure our suppliers hold the line too. Get new suppliers, write new contracts, but whatever you do, quit screwing us please!!! Don’t make us sorry for putting Change4Bensenville in office.
How does this affect my bill?
As a result of these increases the average household who uses 5,000 gallons of water a month would see their total bill for water and garbage services increase by $10.23 from $90.51 to $100.74 or 11.30%.

I just bought gas for $3.99 today in Bensenville. I was thrilled. I could not believe how low the gas prices are now. Thank you oil companies…we love you!!!
WOW, the oil industry has done a great job of conditioning us. Not too long ago the prices were in the low $3 range and now we are thrilled with $3.99. I believe they are playing with our minds…raise the gas price to an unacceptable level, we all moan and groan about how high the gas prices are, then they bring it back down a little again and make us happy. Guess what…they are going to keep doing this until God only knows how much we will be paying. Next stop is $5, $6, $7, $8 and more….AND WE WILL BE HAPPY!!!!

Hello Bensenville School District 2 and the Village of Bensenville. Has anyone done an impact study of the school construction on the wildlife by Johnson School??? Since they have started construction and cut down many, many trees, I have reports from residents in the area of strange occurrences with wildlife. People have seen skunks run through their backyard in the daytime, a sighting of a fox behind the church on Hawthorne, a deer was sighted running down Donna Lane trying to find an opening in the fence and just today a huge snapping turtle was spotted crossing the street by Ridgewood and 2nd….hope he made it across!!! I think it is criminal to destroy the habitat of our wildlife. There are not that many sanctuaries left for our wildlife around Bensenville. I also noticed how close they are to the sledding hill….will that no longer be useable in the winter??? How sad for our youth. Come on you guys, protect our wildlife…at lease open up the fence so they can pass through and get back to the woods!!!!
